Every year, on the first weekend of May, Ibiza<\/a><\/strong> celebrates its Medieval Fair, an entertaining cultural event that attracts more than 80000 visitors every year over those 3 days of festivities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ibiza<\/strong><\/a>, in order to celebrate “Dalt Vila<\/strong>” old town, to being declared World Heritage Site<\/strong><\/a>, the town council of Ibiza<\/strong> organizes a medieval fair inside the walled city and the adjacent areas.<\/p>\n

This event includes medieval theatre, music performance, dances, medieval folklore, falconry exhibitions and many other shows.<\/p>\n

During a few days the historical and cultural values of the old city<\/strong> are be promoted.<\/p>\n

It soon became a success event and from the first day, it has been the most crowded festivity of the year. The medieval fair<\/strong> takes place during the first weekend of May, in the cobbled and narrow streets of Dalt Vila<\/strong>, which are decorated with pennants, banners, garlands and other decorations reminiscent of medieval times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The little streets of the enclosure of the old city<\/strong>, are taken with all kind of actors, comedians and artist representing the roles of characters typical of the Middle Ages: blinds with their guides, fine swordsmen, knights, dragons, courtesans, princesses, \u00a0beggars, priests and representative musicians of medieval Ages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All this happens in an authentic medieval scenery<\/strong>, where there are many decorated stalls offering home-made foods products, crafts, clothes, typical instruments from Ibiza<\/a> and Formentera<\/strong>, jewelry, shoes, carpets handmade, readers of the future \u2013 seers and catering food stands referring to the medieval Age and all of them decorated on the same medieval style.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
