The Las Dalias market, in Sant Carles, has opened on Saturdays since 1985 and brings together close to 400 stalls of jewellery, fashion and food. Its summer night edition, with live music, draws between 3,000 and 5,000 visitors per session in high season.<\/p>\n

The Punta Arab\u00ed market, in Es Canar, runs every Wednesday from May to October and is the oldest on the island in its hippy format. The Santa Gertrudis farmers’ market, for its part, opens on Saturday mornings and brings together producers from a radius of less than 15 km.<\/p>\n

From our own experience with guests, many visitors arrive without knowing these markets exist and end up shopping in tourist supermarkets. Those who do make it to a local market, however, tend to find goat’s cheese from island farms, Ibizan herbs or honey from producers with fewer than 5 employees, none of which you will find in a chain.<\/p>\n\n
